iRESTORE Elite

iRESTORE Elite product photo

Product image: iRESTORE product page.

The iRESTORE Elite is the brand's top helmet, with 500 diodes (300 lasers and 200 LEDs) across three red wavelengths: 625, 655 and 680 nm.

Sessions are shorter than the other iRESTOREs, at 12 minutes a day. It includes a 3-year warranty (a 5-year plan is sold separately) and a 12-month guarantee. The FDA record shows a 510(k) clearance (K222081).

It has the highest diode count in our hair list and is at the higher end on price at $2,699. A higher diode count doesn't by itself mean better results. Hair loss has many causes, so see a dermatologist before you buy.

FDA record or source

"FDA-cleared" means we matched this product to a 510(k) record: the FDA cleared it as substantially equivalent to an existing device for its labelled use. FDA clearance is not FDA approval, and a listed specification isn't proof that a device works. How we check FDA status.

Terms on this page

nm
Nanometres, the unit for a light's wavelength (its colour). Red light is roughly 620–700 nm; near-infrared is above 700 nm.
510(k)
The FDA premarket notification route. A cleared 510(k) means the FDA found the device substantially equivalent to one already on the market. It is not FDA approval.
Diodes
The individual light sources in a device: LEDs, which spread light, or laser diodes, which produce a narrower beam.
