Product image: LightStim product page.

LightStim for Wrinkles is a handheld LED paddle, not a mask: you hold it over one area at a time.

It has 72 LEDs across amber, light red, dark red and infrared light (605, 630, 660 and 855 nm). The brand says a charge gives 2 hours of use, or about 40 treatment areas at 3 minutes each. It's FDA-cleared (latest 510(k) K261482).

It's the lowest-priced device with a matched 510(k) in our LED list, and its size suits spot use or travel. The downside is time: covering your whole face area by area takes much longer than wearing a mask.

FDA record or source

"FDA-cleared" means we matched this product to a 510(k) record: the FDA cleared it as substantially equivalent to an existing device for its labelled use. FDA clearance is not FDA approval, and a listed specification isn't proof that a device works. How we check FDA status.

Terms on this page

nm
Nanometres, the unit for a light's wavelength (its colour). Red light is roughly 620–700 nm; near-infrared is above 700 nm.
mW/cm²
Milliwatts per square centimetre: how much light power reaches each square centimetre of skin (irradiance).
510(k)
The FDA premarket notification route. A cleared 510(k) means the FDA found the device substantially equivalent to one already on the market. It is not FDA approval.
